Curatorial note for 'Public|Private Photo Stories'

No.6 The Yellow House Pondicherry is pleased to exhibit ten emerging Fine Art Photographers in our upcoming pop-up exhibition Public|Private – Photo Stories.

Through the medium of photography, our featured artists initiate dialogues about notions of public/private. These ideas are brought to fore in documentary form and questions the same through constructed fictional images. Narratives span across traces of private relationships in public spaces of Indian cities to the disappearance of private practices such as that of ‘bonesetters’ on the streets of Bombay. Always political, always subjective, these photographs will encourage the viewer to see the everyday differently.
